Bad Luck

For those of you who really know me, I have had really bad luck with cars in the past....really bad luck. Well today just solidified that fact. Kortney's sister dropped by the office to drop something off to her and when she left I recieved a phone call from her saying she had just witnessed a hit and run....to my car! It was some guy from Jersey driving a Lexus who hit my car in the parking lot. I called the police and the officer who came by seemed like he didn't want to be bothered with something so petty....not petty to me! The cop told me, "it's not like we're going to go to New Jersey and arrest him". Whatever. Anywho, the damages as you can see are not too bad but considering I am still paying on this car I would like it to not be damaged! This is the only car I've owned that I actually like for crying out loud. We'll see if I get any insurance coverage on this deal.

Side note: This isn't even the original bumper. I was involved in a fender bender last year on the parkway (not my fault) and had the whole thing replaced.

Random amazements from Maryland

On the way out of Baltimore we saw this road sign....anyone who can appreciate the world of abreviations will love this:

Abrev'd for Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard. AWES!

Also, gas is decently cheaper in Maryland (anywhere other than New York really).

I bought a new camera while we were down there which was long overdue so I wanted to check out the option for taking pictures behind windows...works pretty good.

Made Famous by Food Network

Jimmy and I saw the Stoney Creek Inn on Food Network's Diners, Driv-ins & Dives and decided to check in out while we were in Maryland this past Sunday. They are known for their crab, so Jimmy and I being crab lovers, we had to try it. Pulling up it, it is across the street from a sketchy looking marina but we went in anyways. The place was really small but had a patio outside for when the weather gets nice. Jimmy and I each ordered a cup of thick crab chowder which was really good. On the show they had advertised blue crab that they steam and just throw on your table and you essentially just peel and eat and make a mess. That must be a seasonable thing because it wasn't on the menu so we each orderd a crab breaded and fried stuffed with a crab cake. It wasn't the best I had ever had but it was ok.

I basically just got really frustrated after a while trying to peel off all of the breading to get to the crab inside. I do not think I would recommend this place to anyone, not because it was horrible but it just didn't leave a lasting impression...not to mention I got a little sick from it. As you can see in the picture I am smiling and happy because I have not eaten the crab yet...

Baltimore, MD

This past weekend Jimmy and I went to Maryland to visit Jeff, Erin and the kids and it also served as a Valentines weekend getaway.

Saturday I was awakened by Kevin at about 7:30. I was not too thrilled seeing as I hadn't gone to bed until about 2am. Erin works at Medieval Times in Baltimore so Jimmy and I got tickets for the 1:00 show. Jimmy and I have both gone before, just not together so it was pretty fun.

After the show Jimmy and I went to TJ Max at the mall and got some sweet deals on some stuff.

Erin got home at about 7 so after the kids went to bed Erin, Jimmy and I went bowling to the place on base which was pretty sweet. They had newer screens showing the scores which Jimmy thought was amazing and black lights throughout the place so that you could see how dirty your clothes really were.

Jimmy was the best bowler. Let's just say he was competing with me and Erin's scores...combined.

Even though she sucked, Erin was still pretty stoked when she knocked down a pin.

On Sunday, again I was woken up by Kevin, this time he decided he wanted to play with his train set in the room we were sleeping in....really early. I ended up getting up with him for a bit then when Erin woke up you better believe I went back to sleep for a little bit.

In case you can't tell, Michala is wearing a Yankees shirt in this picture :)

Jimmy and I ordered drinks at Medieval Times and this is the cup that my drink came in. It was huge! Even a couple people commented on it's size. Michala and Kevin wanted some oats for "snack" (uncooked oatmeal, gross) so I decided to put my cup to further use. Kevin is pointing to the oats on the floor letting me know the dogs will clean it up.

We were trying to get the kids to sit still for a picture...this is what I got.

Kevin made some pretty sweet structures.

How can you resist this face? It's so hard getting kids to pose for pictures so I was stoked to get this one!

And dupp'd the chamber-door;

Let in the maid, that out a maid

Never departed more.

Let's get this started....

Rachel is my inspiration for starting this blog. I wanted a way to share the daily events in my life with those interested. The way this works is to start at the bottom and work your way up as I post each day.
