It's The Best Time of the Year

We spent this Christmas at Erin & Jeff's new house in Oswego, NY with the whole Wahl family. We drove up Christmas Eve and just had a great time with family. Christmas morning we have a lucious breakfast and for Christmas dinner Jeff and Erin continued the Wahl tradition of a delicious seafood feast! We had scallops, crab legs, clams...and the list goes on.

Jimmy's Parents Christmas Morning

Jeff and Erin's house is absolutely beautiful, rembling a log cabin in the woods. The previous owners left behind a 4-wheeler so we had that out quite a bit, even the kids rode it and had a great time!

For New Years Jimmy and I will be going to back to Oswego to ring in the New Year with Erin. Jeff is going to Floriday for 6 weeks of training so we are going to keep her company! Happy New Year everyone!!

I love these kids!

Kevin and Michala have been in NY for about a week since Erin and Jeff have been moving from Maryland up to snowy Oswego. They are the hardest kids to get to pose for a picture, especially Kevin but as you can see I got some really good pictures of them. I told them that the camera was broken and the only way it would work was if they smiled...suckers lol. For some reason they have a facination with looking at the screen to see what the picture looks like after I have taken in. I think it's because it's a new big lucious camera with a bright flash....who knows. The kids went up to their new house yesterday and I miss them a lot but weather permitting, Jimmy and I are going to be going up there for Christmas. I can't wait!

Weekend Funtivities

Saturday was quite eventful with Alyssa and Josh's wedding followed by a get together at Jill and Sev's new place. The reception was at the Terra Cotta in Binghamton. Everything was so beautiful from all of the decorations to the wedding cake that Bonni made. I'm a little upset that I didn't look in to the Terra Cotta for my wedding reception! Either way, it was a lot of fun, Nic and I tore up the dance floor for a bit.

After the wedding Jimmy and I headed over to Jill and Sev's new place for some friendly bonding. We played Taboo which was hilarious, even though Jill, Katherine and I lost. We drank egg nog and feasted on some delicious treats provided by Jill and Danae's mom. Mmmm. Having a new camera compells me to take lots of random pictures. Enjoy!

Jill & Sev's Wedding

Jill and Sev got married on November 7, 2009. They had their ceremony at the Vestal Methodist church with a reception following at the Binghamton Regency. It was great being able to assist them in their planning seeing as I work at the Regency but it was also great getting to be in the wedding. Of course I would be seeing as we've been best friends since kindergarten! Jill's bridal shower was a Tea held at her parents house that her sister put together. It was so nice and planned so well! For Jill's bachelorette party we all went to Red Lobster for dinner and then went to the new Holiday Inn express and staying in a suite overnight playing board games, watching movies and snacking. I couldn't have imagined everything going better!

Nicolina & Brett's Wedding

Nicolina and Brett got married on September 12, 2009 at the Pumpelli House in Owego, NY. It was a beautiful venue and I was so happy to be a part of their special day. Even though I missed her bridal shower due to the car troubles in Maryland I was able to attend her bachelorette party. We went to Olive Garden for dinner and afterwards we went to Deb's house (one of the bridesmaids) and had snacks and chilled in the hot tob with a sleepover following. I was honored when Nicolina asked me to spend the night at her parents house the night before the wedding. The next morning we went to the venue to set everything up and the wedding was a success! I cried more than she did but it was the first wedding I had ever been in and I was just so happy for her!

Sunny Florida!

In August Jimmy and I went down to Clearwater Florida with some friends and rented a house on the intercoastal. This was my first time in Florida and it was far more beautiful than I had imagined! We rented scooters on a few of the days and scooted all around the area taking in the sites. On one of our last days we rented a pontoon boat that took us all around the intercoastal and we even got to see Hulk Hogan's house!

Our Engagment

It's been a while since my last post and I am trying to get back in to this. A lot has happend throughout this year. It was a pretty low key Spring but the summer came with some exciting things. On July 24th, the day before my birthday, Jimmy and I were getting ready to head down to Maryland for the weekend to see Jeff, Erin and the kids. As we were getting in the car Jimmy asked me to marry him! He wanted to do it as a birthday present so on top of an eventful weekend in Baltimore we got engaged!

Erin's friend had a hotel room booked in Baltimore that night but had to cancel her plans. She had Erin pay $50 to change the date, so we stayed in a gorgeous hotel close to the pier for $50! We had an amazing sushi dinner that night after running a few blocks through a torrential downpour but it was worth it!

The plan was to leave early that Sunday so that I could make it in time for Nicolina's bridal shower. On the way out, there was a full size spare in the middle of the highway that Jimmy could not avoid. In running it over, it totalled the bottom of Jimmy's car leaving us stranded until the next morning when we were able to rent a car and make the trip home. All in all a great weekend!!

Bad Luck

For those of you who really know me, I have had really bad luck with cars in the past....really bad luck. Well today just solidified that fact. Kortney's sister dropped by the office to drop something off to her and when she left I recieved a phone call from her saying she had just witnessed a hit and run....to my car! It was some guy from Jersey driving a Lexus who hit my car in the parking lot. I called the police and the officer who came by seemed like he didn't want to be bothered with something so petty....not petty to me! The cop told me, "it's not like we're going to go to New Jersey and arrest him". Whatever. Anywho, the damages as you can see are not too bad but considering I am still paying on this car I would like it to not be damaged! This is the only car I've owned that I actually like for crying out loud. We'll see if I get any insurance coverage on this deal.

Side note: This isn't even the original bumper. I was involved in a fender bender last year on the parkway (not my fault) and had the whole thing replaced.

Random amazements from Maryland

On the way out of Baltimore we saw this road sign....anyone who can appreciate the world of abreviations will love this:

Abrev'd for Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard. AWES!

Also, gas is decently cheaper in Maryland (anywhere other than New York really).

I bought a new camera while we were down there which was long overdue so I wanted to check out the option for taking pictures behind windows...works pretty good.

Made Famous by Food Network

Jimmy and I saw the Stoney Creek Inn on Food Network's Diners, Driv-ins & Dives and decided to check in out while we were in Maryland this past Sunday. They are known for their crab, so Jimmy and I being crab lovers, we had to try it. Pulling up it, it is across the street from a sketchy looking marina but we went in anyways. The place was really small but had a patio outside for when the weather gets nice. Jimmy and I each ordered a cup of thick crab chowder which was really good. On the show they had advertised blue crab that they steam and just throw on your table and you essentially just peel and eat and make a mess. That must be a seasonable thing because it wasn't on the menu so we each orderd a crab breaded and fried stuffed with a crab cake. It wasn't the best I had ever had but it was ok.

I basically just got really frustrated after a while trying to peel off all of the breading to get to the crab inside. I do not think I would recommend this place to anyone, not because it was horrible but it just didn't leave a lasting impression...not to mention I got a little sick from it. As you can see in the picture I am smiling and happy because I have not eaten the crab yet...

Baltimore, MD

This past weekend Jimmy and I went to Maryland to visit Jeff, Erin and the kids and it also served as a Valentines weekend getaway.

Saturday I was awakened by Kevin at about 7:30. I was not too thrilled seeing as I hadn't gone to bed until about 2am. Erin works at Medieval Times in Baltimore so Jimmy and I got tickets for the 1:00 show. Jimmy and I have both gone before, just not together so it was pretty fun.

After the show Jimmy and I went to TJ Max at the mall and got some sweet deals on some stuff.

Erin got home at about 7 so after the kids went to bed Erin, Jimmy and I went bowling to the place on base which was pretty sweet. They had newer screens showing the scores which Jimmy thought was amazing and black lights throughout the place so that you could see how dirty your clothes really were.

Jimmy was the best bowler. Let's just say he was competing with me and Erin's scores...combined.

Even though she sucked, Erin was still pretty stoked when she knocked down a pin.

On Sunday, again I was woken up by Kevin, this time he decided he wanted to play with his train set in the room we were sleeping in....really early. I ended up getting up with him for a bit then when Erin woke up you better believe I went back to sleep for a little bit.

In case you can't tell, Michala is wearing a Yankees shirt in this picture :)

Jimmy and I ordered drinks at Medieval Times and this is the cup that my drink came in. It was huge! Even a couple people commented on it's size. Michala and Kevin wanted some oats for "snack" (uncooked oatmeal, gross) so I decided to put my cup to further use. Kevin is pointing to the oats on the floor letting me know the dogs will clean it up.

We were trying to get the kids to sit still for a picture...this is what I got.

Kevin made some pretty sweet structures.

How can you resist this face? It's so hard getting kids to pose for pictures so I was stoked to get this one!
